A wedding at a Greek Orthodox Church by a Greek Orthodox Priest in Greek Orthodox Faith is only possible under the following circumstances:

  • If both parties are christened in the Orthodox Faith and have the relevant certificates to prove this
  • If one party is christened in the Orthodox Faith and the other is christened in the Roman Catholic Faith and have the certificates to prove this

NOTE : In the case where one party is christened in the Orthodox Faith and the other is christened in a faith other than the above mentioned, then you will need to inform us of your particular details and we will then investigate the matter with the local Church authorities for and on your behalf, and advise you accordingly.

In all cases the intended parties will need to procure their baptism certificates and their non-impediment to marry certificates.

In the case where either party has been previously divorced, then they will also need to procure their divorce decree.

Note : that the Greek Orthodox Faith in case of previous divorces only accepts up to 2 previous divorces.

In the case where the couple has already conducted a civil wedding ceremony in their home country, then they will only need to procure their baptism certificates and their wedding certificate.

NOTE : In all / either of the above cases, the required documents have to be legalized (with Apostile (Hague) Seal), translated into Greek and certified by the Greek Embassy. The Greek Orthodox Church does not accept non-legalized/certified documents that are not translated into Greek.

Our fee for planning/coordination throughout the planning stages and for personal assistance on the day of your wedding is: 400,00 €.

Church fees

Please note that Orthodox Church fees vary, in terms of popularity, size, location, etc. On average, please allow for a minimum of 400,00 €. Some churches like the popular Ypapanti Church on the sea in Kommeno require 500,00€.

Additional services

  • Wedding Car (decorated) & Driver: 250,00 € for up to 3 hours.
  • Wedding Horse Carriage: 350,00 € for up to 2 hours (decorated). Note that the wedding carriage is only available in the case of churches located in Corfu Town.
  • Flowers for decorating the Church for the wedding ceremony (flower columns, flower arch over door, candle/flower columns for altar, Bride (bouquet) & Groom (buttonhole), Best Man (buttonhole) & Bride’s maid (corsage), basket of petals(4): please allow approx. 1.500,00 € - 2.000,00 € (depending on type of flowers and quantity).
  • Silver plated tray, crystal carafe, crystal wedding glass, stefana (wedding crowns), rice pouches: please allow approx. 800,00 € to 1.000,00 € (depending on your choices)
  • Bombonieres: approx. 2,00 € to 5,00 € each (incl. 7 koufetta each), depending on choice of pouches (packaging).
  • Photographer: 750,00 € (for 3 hours), incl. wedding album with 80 prints & CD with all shots. Other prints are extra.
  • Videographer: 950,00 € (for 3 hours), incl. DVD of wedding.
